Every year, about 700 children and adolescents in Germany suffer from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, of which 70% suffer from relapse. Through intensive combination chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation, the survival rate has increased from 20% in the 1970s to 80% today. A total of 23 research teams participated in the IntReALL project, which was led by the Pediatric Center of Charlotte University. The project aims to help children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia find the most effective treatment to cure and prevent recurrence through the research results of the project.
